Hi, I’m Sana! 👋🏽

A Toronto-based Medical Illustrator and Animator 🫀🫁🧠

As a visualization specialist with advanced training in design, medicine, art and technology, I work with healthcare professionals, editorial publications, researchers, pharmaceutical corporations, and businesses specializing in health, medicine and scientific discovery to visually translate complex science into a clear and understandable form.

I'm a graduate of the 1 in only 4 accredited medical illustration programs in North America- the master's level Biomedical Communication program at the University of Toronto, where the focus is communicating complex science into comprehensible visuals, developing compelling scientific and medical illustrations, motion graphics, UI/UX design, and 2D/3D animations. Additionally, I have completed my Undergraduate specialist degree in Neurobiology, genetics and behaviour alongside 3+ years of neuroscience and environmental research experience.

I am passionate about combining the disciplines of art and science to create beautiful scientifically accurate illustrations, diagrams and visuals benefitting science communication. I specialize in surgical, anatomical and pathological illustrations, scientific visualizations, editorial and academic publications, science explainer animations, and patient and public education. As a freelancer and entrepreneur, I'm always seeking unique opportunities in allowing me to create visual content that advances scientific knowledge, medical and life science research, and any form of science communication for patients and the public.
